In a recent
KOB story, Presbyterian Medical Group pediatrician Dr. Alexandra Cvijanovich, discussed the importance of immunizations in children.
“Our regular illnesses, that we see as pediatricians out in the community, are still out there, we still see whooping cough, there's still risks of Hepatitis A and HPV and all the other vaccine-preventable diseases,” said Dr. Cvijanovich.
To schedule immunizations for children, parents should contact their primary care doctor. In addition, New Mexico’s
"Got Shots?" campaign provides opportunities to stay up-to-date on immunizations. As part of "Got Shots?" participating providers see any child who presents for immunizations, regardless of whether they are a patient or have insurance.
