2018 Awards, Honors & Recognitions

Presbyterian Espanola Hospital Recognized for COPD treatment by Healthgrades PEH earned five stars from Healthgrades for treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease two years in a row.

Plains Regional Medical Center and Presbyterian Espanola Hospital honored by rural health group Plains Regional Medical Center and Presbyterian Española Hospital achieved top performance in patient outcomes and were awarded certificates of achievement by the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health in November 2018.

Presbyterian Española Hospital Earns Quality Awards In recognition of its commitment to quality care and patient experience, Presbyterian Española Hospital (PEH) has earned two awards from HealthInsight New Mexico.

PEH was one of eight New Mexico hospitals to earn the 2018 HealthInsight Hospital Quality Award. HealthInsight Quality Award hospital recipients are recognized for their high performance on quality of care outcome measures and patient satisfaction. They were selected based on national rankings in three categories: the results of the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey, a national survey of patients' experience of hospital care; healthcare-associated infections; and readmissions. The individual measures were combined into a single weighted composite ranking. Hospitals at or above the top 25th percentile nationally on this combined ranking received the award.

In addition, PEH was one of three 2018 HealthInsight Hospital Quality Award winners also recognized with HCAHPS Performance Recognition Certificates at the New Mexico Hospital Association Annual Meeting in Albuquerque on September 26, 2018. HCAHPS certificates were awarded to hospitals that demonstrated high-quality performance for providing patients with an excellent experience of hospital care. Hospitals in this category ranked at or above the 75th percentile nationally on the HCAHPS survey.


2017 Awards, Honors & Recognitions

​Presbyterian Española Hospital Earns “A” in Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade.​ Presbyterian Española Hospital earned an “A” in Hospital Safety from The Leapfrog Group.​

The Leapfrog Group, an independent, national not-for-profit organization founded by the nation’s leading employers and private health care experts, focuses on measuring and publicly reporting hospital performance through the annual Leapfrog Hospital Survey. The Hospital Safety Score uses national performance measures from the Leapfrog Hospital Survey, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the American Hospital Association’s Annual Survey and Health Information Technology Supplement.

Four Presbyterian Hospitals recognized by HealthInsight New Mexico​. We are proud to announce that Presbyterian Española Hospital was one of five New Mexico hospitals recently recognized with a 2017 HealthInsight Quality Award. The award from HealthInsight New Mexico celebrates high performance in quality of care and patient satisfaction.

In addition, Presbyterian Hospital, Presbyterian Kaseman Hospital and Presbyterian Rust Medical Center were all recognized with 2017 Excellence in Quality Improvement certificates by HealthInsight New Mexico.


2016 Awards, Honors & Recognitions

Four Presbyterian Rural Hospitals Recognized as Top Performers. On November 17, National Rural Health Day, Presbyterian Healthcare Services celebrated healthcare teams who care for patients in rural areas across New Mexico. This year, we highlight the success of four Presbyterian rural hospitals named 2016 Top Performers by iVantage Health Analytics and the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health (NOSORH).

  • Presbyterian Española Hospital in Española, New Mexico was named a Top Performer for Excellence in Financial Strength.
  • Lincoln County Medical Center in Ruidoso, New Mexico was named a Top Performer for Excellence in Quality.
  • Socorro General Hospital in Socorro, New Mexico was named a Top Performer for Excellence in Quality and Patient Outcomes.
  • Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis, New Mexico was named a Top Performer for Excellence in Financial Strength.

Three Presbyterian Rural Hospitals Recognized as 2015 Top Performers. This year, we highlight the success of three Presbyterian rural hospitals named 2015 Top Performers by iVantage Health Analytics and the National Organization of State Office of Rural Health (NOSORH).

  • Dr. Dan C. Trigg Memorial Hospital was named a Top Performer for Excellence in Financial Strength.
  • Presbyterian Española Hospital was named a Top Performer for Excellence in Outcomes and Financial Strength.
  • Socorro General Hospital was named a Top Performer for Excellence in Outcomes.

2013 Awards, Accomplishments & Recognitions

Dr. Dan C. Trigg Memorial Hospital, Presbyterian Española Hospital and Socorro General Hospital Were Recognized With The Supply Chain Excellence Award. Dr. Dan C. Trigg Memorial Hospital, Presbyterian Española Hospital and Socorro General Hospital were recognized with the Supply Chain Excellence Award, which was given to 29 acute care hospitals. The award recognizes hospitals that choose high-quality, cost effective products and services, which helps to reduce waste while maintaining a healthy bottom line.


2010 Awards, Accomplishments & Recognitions

New Mexico Nursing Excellence Awards (New Mexico Center for Nursing Excellence). From Rio Rancho to Española to Albuquerque, five Presbyterian nurses were recognized for their commitment to quality and caring within our facilities.
